Women Pulled Apart
I can't for the life of me, figure out how this could have been done, besides using two midgets:

I thought you weren't to disclose secrets here. (Even if they stink!).

Notice that even though he asks both girls to pull, the blonde girl doesn't.

Well one of the girls does appear to have her legs amputated. I guess in theory she might have them curled up towards her chest, but she seems to be pretty good at crawling around with her hands. For the legs, well.. I'm not sure if they are real, but there should be enough space under that blanket to hide one slender, lithe woman.
I'm not sure what to think about these types of stunts. Comparable to 19th century 'freak shows', an eye-opener on disabilities, or just a perfectly legitimate way for disabled people to get some attention and draw an advantage out of their handicap? |

I don't like to disclose secrets either, so all I'll say is a perusal of the photographic works of Joel-Peter Witkin (monkeys and cadavers aside) may give some insight as to how this was done.

Criss Angel is bush league.
He is well known for his extensive use of post production editing for his TV show. In these types of "stunts", EVERYONE is in on it. They start with a normal girl, pause, and then bring in the amputee girl and the other one. He doesn't even try to be that smart about it. If you watch most of his skits (Youtube, or elsewhere) you will notice that many of the SAME girl/guy in the crowd are in the same vids over and over. He is entertaining though and a pretty good slight of hand guy. But, obviously, every one of his gigs are easily figured out. |

I don't know. I love that Criss Angel has brought magic and such into the world. It was a pretty easy trick to figure out and listening to him talk about some of his tricks on Penn's radio show was fascinating. I love mentalism and my husband loves slight of hands. The one we're trying to figure out is when he got stabbed by the spikes of the fence. I know it's special effects, but I like the fact that it's still mind boggling for me. So few of his tricks are at this point (at least his slight of hands ones).

No, no.
Grammar should be practiced to the degree of rigidity that suits me. No more and no less. My correction was mere politeness. Yours was extreme pedantry approaching cruelty and uselessness. If everyone followed the unwritten "Garrette's Rules of Grammar" the world would be a better place. Or I would be a happier man. Same thing. |

I actually knew that, unfortunately I've been ill and not keeping up with my spelling. Or even my proper punctuation. Or even my getting photos from the TAM up in a timely fashion. Trust me, when you're this ill and even sitting up at your laptop to type is making you nauseous, you're least worried about slight vs sleight vs sleights, even if normally it would annoy you (or in this case, me) to the utmost degree.
