Dean's Box

Anyone familiar with this illusion?

Dean's Box

A friend of mine has one, and showed me a few tricks that can be done with it.

Very cool!

And very nice-looking, even up close.

But for $250, I guess it had better be!

And you've put your finger on why, as cool as it is, I don't own one. It looks VERY good (as much as I thought I'd have having a prop as opposed to an "uncovered" type of effect), but its a bit steep, and would be hard to carry around like my ring and rope, for example.

Yup. My favorite kind of magic is closeup magic, particularly that which uses fair (non-gaffed) props.

Maybe if there was a Dean's MatchBox?

Oooooh. I'd buy one - but I doubt that you could go quite that small . . . . VERY interesting thought, though.
