I don't understand how they could even know what this Virgin Mary character is supposed to look like in the first place. An optical illusion that has boobs would probably qualify as mary to these people, and jesus if it had a penis.

Apparently anything that vaguely resembles a woman in a white cloak is definitely the Virgin Mary! So is anything that vaguely resembles a slightly bowed hooded head. Look, the AC malfunctioned overnight and now we have rippled pink oil stripes all over the building... IT'S THE VIRGIN MARY! Look, a photo of the aurora borealis... IT'S THE VIRGIN MARY! Look, that blurry photo of who-knows-what looks like a person if you squint and turn the photo upside down... IT'S THE VIRGIN MARY! Look, I spilled my coffee on the tablecloth... IT'S VIRGIN MARY!
