Big shake-up over at Rapture Ready

Looks like there was a "hostile takeover" of the Rapture Ready Bulletin Board.

Some choice quotes for those people who've been banned and can't access? Not that I know anybody like that

The first link wouldn't work for me, it just asked me to log in or register.

The second did, but from what I can see all that's happnening is that they're going to a different server. Apparently that triggered some unfounded rumors.

Is there more to it than that?

Should I register over there, do they freak out if an atheist shows up?

Lol!

I am extremely saddened by all of this. While I will wait to see what changes will be made before I decide to stay....or go..... I have to say that all of this has been handled very poorly. And way to suddenly. It may all come out in the wash in the end but this could have been handled in such a way that wouldn't leave people feeling stepped on, broken hearted, confused, angry, and questioning the motives behind all of this. R.R. will never be the same.
Is she talking about the forum change or the rapture?
Hmm I think i'll go post this on fstdt.

Humm... As far as I can tell, it looks like their technical admin and sysop were raptured shortly after the fund-raising effort and the rest are a bit confused because they are left behind.

It's been claimed that the owner of the board has fired all the moderating team.

So they raised funds and the tech admin and sysop are gone? Did they get to the new host then, or did the money get raptured too?

Mind you, I have no idea what the structure of that board is, but from what I can see, this is what happened (is happening?). There was some kind of power struggle, and all of the mods were de-modded. There were quite a few sour comments posted by those mods as of yesterday, but it looks like all of those have either been deleted, or edited out. There is a new board being started by one or more former mods (maybe you won't be banned there?), and there were a few rather nasty comments about the fund-raising.

If I had known this was of interest, I could have taken some screen captures, but I never spend too much time on those sites, so wasn't paying much attention. There was quite a bit of drama-queening going on, which was somewhat entertaining. This message gives you somewhat of a clue as to the extent of it all.

Todd, you are just gonna have to bite the bullet on this one. You kind of need to look at all the members as stockholders who really do deserve an answer here. They may not need to know why a fellow member was banned but they do deserve to know about something that has affected all the faithful posters and all the mods.

Next to Christine and the mods who have been volunteering here for years and years these guys are the ones who have made RR-MB so successful.

They are the ones who have been faithfully abiding by our rules, using this as a ministry, a witness and a fellowship. They deserve better than this.

If we explain it, it may sound vengeful or based on emotion.

If not rumors are gonna fly and it will simply get worse and worse as it is right now. Those rumors could also hurt the RR main page.

Your gonna simply have to lay it out on the table.

Jim

It appears God is taking the rap:
