Power outage in New York/Canada

The story

Quote:
State officials said the Niagara-Mohawk power grid was overloaded. The grid provides power for New York and stretches into Canada. The officials said the outage is a natural occurrence and not related to terrorism.
Natural occurrence?

Yes, natural occurrence implies that it was simply overloaded as in people wanted more power than what was available.

With all these damned little separate forums nowadays, the only defense I know is using "View New Posts", otherwise I miss stuff.

Just to demonstrate my prescience...

Shanek will believe this is due to government regulation of the power industry. If the industry was private it would never have happened. Regardless of arguments against him, he will not budge.

Malachi will believe this is do to the industry being too privatized. He will make extreme long posts with large amounts of C&P in an effort to argue this point. Regardless of arguments against him, he will not budge.

JAR will blame it on whatever minority group is closest.

AUP will say it's the US's fault for something we did. (or is he knee-jerk the other way? sorry, stopped reading those threads)

LK will blame it on people being stupid.

JK would have blamed it on the matriarchal totalitarianism that's ruined the country.

Franko would start an argument about the power grid controls you controls your car.

Genshis Pwn would post pictures of young girls and ask if you would rather be stuck in an elevator when the power goes out with them or a large hairy man.

Girl 6 will ask if various posters are ok.

jon_in_london will point out this sort of thing doesn't happen in the UK and that the US sucks.

Various European posters will ask what the heck is wrong with us on this side of the pond.

The French will smoke.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Boy am I glad I'm off tomorrow. The network monitoring system must be lighting up like a christmas tree.

On the other hand, I have rail tickets to Penn Station for tomorrow morning.

Actually I blame it on over consumption by society

Nah, I don't really blame it on anything, that's just a normal part of working with these types of things on large scales.

Yeah, well, I probably wouldn't win the $1 mil, either.

Next thing you know JK will show up and say it's all perfectly normal... just to spite me.

I see you skipped the easy one.
Billiefan2000 will blame it on the sinful nature of the Northeastern states.

Maybe people on the east coast live like that, but here in Los Angeles I never worry about power. I guess we cool like that

But rapturetroll has already claimed it as a sign of the endtimes. The heatwaves, global warming, the blackout - the whole kit and caboodle - agur doesn't stand a chance.
