Cool Dragon*Con and Podcasting

I assume by now that many of you noticed the big announcement we made earlier about all the podcasting and now HUGE Skeptic events at Dragon*Con this year?

I intend to attend Dragon*Con, once again, this year. (It will be my second time).

However, I hope the skeptical stuff does not overpower the sci-fi/fantasy stuff, in the long run. Otherwise it'll just be another "TAM". I go to sci-fi conventions for science fiction, dang it!

If I was to go... it'd be for the Fantasy, Sci fi, the filk and all the luverly costumes.

Oh and the great feeling of wearing a kilt when one is surrounded by thousands of strangers

Yes, of course. There is all that, as well.

Trust me,

The con is too friggin HUGE to have it totally overrun by the Skeptic stuff!

It is just great that we finally wedged in a track in the con! Which might it be like a TAM over on this coast, but with All the other stuff as well!

It is great!!

Actually, I am not so much concerned about the whole con, as I am about my itinerary. If there are a lot of skeptical things to do, I might be more prone to do more of them, and less of the sillier (but fun) sci-fi and fantasy related stuff. And, then when I come home, I will complain that it was like "just another TAM" for me, (except this one had weirdly-costumed mobs squished into all the hallways).

But,

You could look at it THIS way...

"It was like TAM, but WITH cool ass costumes!"

Maybe the Skeptchick ladies should let me book a 'runway' show for them?

J/K!

Ha ha, just saw this ... I'd really like to come, as it sounds like a blast, even though I'm not nearly as passionate about sci-fi as 90% of the other attendees. I know we discussed the possibility of bringing the Skeptics' Guide down to have fun with you guys, though I don't think there are definite plans yet. I'll ask the fellas about it. One way or another, I want to see pics. Lots and lots of pics!

You know, I thought about attending in costume as Wowbagger: Paint my face an "expensive shade of green", walk around with a clipboard-like-thingy, and insult everyone I can, in alphabetic order.

But, then I thought better of it, and decided not to go in costume at all, just don a Darth Vader suit like a normal person.

Well, Rebecca, I hope you make it! Lots of cool stuff going on now.

Let me know if you want any details or information about the con and, if you decide to come, I'll try to get you into my schedule of 'live' shows!
