Columbo vs the Psychic - 8:00pm central time

It's starting on A&E right now, at least in the central time zone. If you haven't seen it, it'll turn you into a Columbo fan.

ooh oohh don't forgot to watch Randi on Happy Days when that gets replayed.. lol.

Technically it was Columbo vs. a fake psychic who was also a murderer.

Columbo: Oh, one more thing Mr Edward... my wife loves ya sir, she's a big fan y'know, and I was wondering, sir, if it wouldn't be too much trouble to get an autograph from you?

Fake Psychic: Why certainly, what's her name Lieutenant?

Columbo: Mrs Columbo, sir. Oh she'll be so pleased

[Fake Psychic signs piece of paper]

Columbo: Thankyou sir... oh one more thing [fishes crumpled piece of paper from pocket] oh it's just as I thought sir, just as I thought...

Fake Psychic: What's that Lieutenant?

Columbo: Well Mr Edward, sir, this is the note the killer left at the scene... and this is your signature. Do you notice the similarity between the two samples of handwriting sir?

Fake Psychic: Well, ah... do you know who I am?

Columbo: I do Mr Edward sir, I really do, but you see this piece of paper you just signed? If I unfold it now, you'll see it was a confession, sir, and now your signature's at the bottom of it, just there, you see?

Fake Psychic: NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I keeell you!

[Enter 15 policemen, who bundle Fake Psychic away]

Columbo: [puffing on cigar] I love it when a plan comes together.

[Strange looks given by all]
[freeze picture]
[roll credits]

There you go, no need to watch it now.

It was OK. I liked Colombo relying on a kid to figure out the fake psychic's tricks. I didn't like the references to psychics solving crimes as if that were an established fact. And the ending was lame.

Yes. If there was a real psychic, then that person wouldn't be a fake psychic.

Oh yeah, If... We have a television channel with that as part of it's logo.

The ScIfi channel.

I've seen that episode. I'm surprised no one commented on the murder victim...an aging "magician turned into a professional psychic debunker"... a man much beloved by his peers in magic, much despised by his psychic adversaries.

Something just a bit familiar there, isn't there....
