Suppose you could elect God?

Well, you can't. But you can elect the April winner of The Language Award. And unlike God, they are eligible for a wonderful prize of $20 in JREF merchandise. Now I know what the Bible meant when the Big Guy says, "I am a jealous God".

I would like to take this time to snark at this shameless whoring on the TLA's part to announce that I will be running for the position of GOD on the "hookers and 8-balls for all" campaign.

I just want Tricky's job. Even after your term is over, you still get bribes. That's the job for me.

Well, my term isn't over yet, but I will be happy to share all my bribes with you, Sling. (As long as FowlGod keeps his nose out of our business.)
