Some people are so stupid and some are so scandalous. Copelands should be spending their lives in prison.

That's really depressing. Unfortunately, no amount of news exposes will convince their donors that their money isn't going where they think it is.

I just wonder how people can contribute to these guys' ministry -- one that preaches that personal wealth is OK with God -- and not wonder "how did these guys get so wealthy?"
MelBrooksfan, you are so right -- that really was depressing. And instead of dying thinking, "those crooks ripped me off", that poor woman went to her death thinking, "I didn't give them enough money." : ( |

Part of it is that it's more than "Wealth is OK with God." They usually take it to the level of "God will make you rich." Popoff is giving away miracle spring water that will, if I annoint my wallet with it, cause a 'supernatural transfer' of money to made to me by god. In times of economic uncertainty, it's not hard to see why people would turn to that. |

What a sad story, indeed.
Who would have thought they are a bunch of criminals? Big surprise. |

When will the Amercian government/IRS realise whats happening?
Why do they insist in allowing "churches" to be tax exempt and for them to not disclose their internal accounts. Why should they be any different to anyone else? Sort that out and you will clear up this mess overnight. Phil |

If I was a dictator they would be hanging by their short and curleys in public for life. Rotten fruit supplied cheerfully by me forever.

The Copelands have been doing this for decades. People want to be taken, want to be ripped off by these conmen.

Nah, the Copelands are merely taking advantage of two basic human states:
1. The belief in something greater than they are 2. The desire to acquire wealth with minimal effort. |
