That's really depressing. Unfortunately, no amount of news exposes will convince their donors that their money isn't going where they think it is.

I just wonder how people can contribute to these guys' ministry -- one that preaches that personal wealth is OK with God -- and not wonder "how did these guys get so wealthy?"

MelBrooksfan, you are so right -- that really was depressing. And instead of dying thinking, "those crooks ripped me off", that poor woman went to her death thinking, "I didn't give them enough money." : (

Part of it is that it's more than "Wealth is OK with God." They usually take it to the level of "God will make you rich." In times of economic uncertainty, it's not hard to see why people would turn to that.

When will the Amercian government/IRS realise whats happening?

Why do they insist in allowing "churches" to be tax exempt and for them to not disclose their internal accounts. Why should they be any different to anyone else?

Sort that out and you will clear up this mess overnight.
