Turkey ready to invade Kurdistan

I hope Turkey invades Kurdistan. The Kurds are too friendly with the Israelis.

What the flaming nostrils does the possibility of a Turkish-Kurdish war have to do with Israel? The Turks and Kurds have hated each other for hundreds of years, long before modern Israel ever existed.

And MaGZ, you're a complete arse for wishing death and destruction on a group of people just because they're friendly with another group of people. You racist slimeball.

Cheers,
TGHO

Indeed.

I think we need some sort of amendment to the JREF user agreement.

Something along the lines of agreeing NOT to troll.

Perhaps someone could come up would a proper definition of trolling...something we can all agree with.

The great Irony is that Turkey actually has a fairly good relationship with Israel and have even conducted some military exercises together.

If your recall the brew-ha when Amy Wilson was at its height of trollishness, people did try and come up with a working definition of “troll” which would be both effective and yet not restrictive on behaviours which the majority found acceptable and did not want to discourage. It couldn’t be achieved, and IMHO instating a flawed troll rule would be worse than the trolls themselves.

If someone is really getting to you, try the ignore feature.

At the risk of being called a nitpicker, I would like to encourage the use of "try to", with "try and" used only when the writer specifically intends to indicate sucess.

A) You're a nitpicker.

B) "Sucess" is correctly spelled "success".

C) Your post contains no kittens.

Yes, that was in the past. However, today I think Turkey feels betrayed by Israel cozying up with the Kurds. The Kurdish state has to be taken down. They are nothing but a nest of terrorists. Turkey should invade and the US troops should stand aside. I hope Turkey focuses on the Israeli military and intelligence bases in Kurdistan when the invasion begins.

It always comes down to the Jews. Why does the world stand against the Jews, anyway? They're so small, yet control so much. If they ever got a good-sized population going, the rest of the world can forget it. And maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing, if they're so damned efficient and industrious and wealthy.

Eh? Gotta give 'em credit where credit is due, eh?

Kurdish State?

Invasion?

Isreali bases?

right...

There is NO SUCH THING as the Kurdish state, kurdistan consists of parts of northern Iraq, southern Turkey and, IIRC, Northwestern Iran

So your basically saying that Turkey should invade themselves, followed by Iraq and Iran

Real clever

Perhaps Turkey would like to do to the Kurds what it did to the Armenians?

Sooner or later Turkey's going to have to decide whether it wants to be in the twenty-first century, or the sixteenth.

The government and military are, generally, but the public opinion? I'd need to see some well constructed polls and commentary on that to be as confident as you are.

I was referring to the government and military, which, I presume, would also be the ones deciding whether to invade the mythical realm of "Kurdistan".

Kurdistan is a bit more than mythical. You might want to consider how the Kurds are slowlly creating it as a hard reality in the northern part of Iraq. They believe it exists, and at the moment, it exists in a sort of partnership with what calls itself Iraq. Consider which flags fly over government buildings in Erbil.

Now, Greater Kurdistan, to include the chunks of Turkey and Iran that are beyond the reach of Iraqi Kurd politicians (at present) is certainly a dream that would take a load of blood and iron to create, but "Lesser Kurdistan" is already up and running.

I wouldn't say it's mythical, just not internationally recognised
