Ladybrook - Experiment in Repitition.

In this thread (Towards the end) it has been questioned whether Luci managed to backpost Ladybrook some time after the timestamp. Whether it is possible or not is not the question of this thread.

You will note the specific prediction made by Luci namely, “Ladybrook” and the comparison with the actual event which was, Some time after Luci posted Ladybrook a bomb didn’t go off near Ladybrook in Ireland.

I am wondering if this fantastic piece of supernatural foresight can be replicated by myself and others. I therefore suggest that anyone who wishes can post a word (or for the more adventurous two or more words). Those really brave may even wish to post a specific event and time frame.

Luci said that words come into her head but not when they will be significant. I suggest however that we try to put a weeks limit and only count hits within a week of posting. You can then report back and see if your prediction can better Luci's as a resounding proof of the supernatural

My Prediction “Clapton”

Please note: any predictions that I still won’t be able to spell ‘repetition’ correctly will not be seen as showing psychic ability.

I'm afraid this is a no win proposition.

If any of the words prove significant to some yet to occur event, Luci will claim that psirony is at work within the person posting the word, even if they aren't aware it is working. Thus proving here theory correct. (at least in her mind)

If no words bear any significance, she will say that this proves just how amazing her "Ladybrook" prediction was, since no skeptic could replicate the process.

Believers like Luci always find an "out" so that they can ignore reality and say "See, I told you so."

But, I'll play anyway: Bridgeport

Luci is an idiot, who lacks basic reasoning skills, failing totally to understand probability.

In Ian Rowland’s fantastic book “The full facts book of Cold reading” he discusses the “Lucky guess”. This tactic, one of 38 he describes in the book, is a sure fire winner if it comes off because there is no way that it can be de bunked. In the book Ian is talking about using it in a real time reading (and naturally gives numerous ways out if the guess is wrong).

It struck me however that in Luci’s guessing game, sorry I mean psychic ability to receive words without specific meaning, the chances of a hit would be a lot higher. Obviously with no time limit they would be a certain hit but with a shortish one I considered that there was still a good chance there would be a hit.

I just decided to test this theory publicly I realise that as a true paranormal scientist I am supposed to carry out my testing in secret, tell the world of the fantastic results then refuse to divulge the full details and controls in the experiment. I guess I need more practice.

By trusting my spirit guide to subconsciously direct me to open to the right page in the dictionary, and using my own psi ability to intuit the correct word on that page, I arrived at the following prediction:

Kingpin.

I was going to use 401k and Bush, but damnit if a post thought goggle search didn't rain on my parade:

Someone in this group will pass gas and, interestingly enough, no one will admit it.

This is useless. It only takes a couple of minutes to break the tactics of Luci (and several others), mainly answering or half-answering selected questions, pretending not to see others and then centering in specific twists of a topic to draw attention away.

In any case, note that my prediction will inevitably be right.

Then, his grandkids will have him committed.

Ahh.. the sweet psirony.

Ummm, well, I didn't warn. I know that much, since she told me about it when we talked the next day (apparently she couldn't hear it, but could see the smoke) and I hadn't actually heard about it before then. I have zero idea whether I posted before or after it actually happened though.

Hmmm, so does that mean I'm psychic?

OK. New test successful.

You can post, edit within two minutes, have people view your post in the meantime, and not have any 'edited' notes added.

More points for me!

OK, so does this indicate that you can post, edit before 4 minutes, remain in the edit screen for a maximum of 15 minutes before the 'edited by' stamp shows?

Claus indicated in the other thread that he tested the theory, but feels his post failed on account of his looking at his own thread. But I did that earlier - perhaps it is just a time thing afterall.

On that I'd be willing to renounce the theory.

I admit, this is kind of fun. No wonder I like science.
