Astral traveller gets lost in transit

A word of warning from our local news for all the Tim4848's of the world - please do not try this at home;

Full Story

Quote:
"It was considered by some of the campers that the men might have been astral-travelling, that their conscious selves had left their bodies and that they were deep in a meditative state," …

"Given that, it was decided that the group should undertake activities to call them back to their bodies."

… this involved chanting, playing drums and singing.
Sweat lodges, astral travel and bad first aid aside, they were "camping on a creekbed" - don't they know how dangerous that is?

Reminds me of the snake Christians in southern USA who often get bitten for their belief.

No, it has to be taking yourself out of the gene pool, not having your stupidity kill someone else.

Let's wait for the poor guy to try and speak thru Sylvia Browne next.

What I found the most sad were some of the comments that followed that article - a professed Native American saying that he deserved to die because he shouldn't attempt the Indian secrets. Or something like that, I don't recall exactly because I read it awhile ago before posting. But how cruel can someone get to say something like that??? I know the people were not smart to try this but there are grieving families out there.

That's true. Apparently the poor bastards realized they were in trouble in the steam room. When they got out, they were unconcious. At that point, your fate is now in the hands of the folks around you.

One hopes someone throws the book at these fools and knocks some sense into them.
