Here is a cool card trick.

The origin of myths is explained in this way.

But it says the computer is psychic. Psychic power uplinked using fiber optics. They can't just make that up you know.

This is the kind of tricks that make you bang your head to the wall when you realise how its done and how easy you were duped. And thats whats so great about it!

it's also the kind of trick that makes you hate learning magic, since learning it robs you of the joy of seeing a good trick. It does get a little disappointing, to be able to say "oh, I saw what he did there." and "that wasn't very fluid" even when you couldn't do the trick to save your life..

Richard Wiseman did this trick at his TAM4 talk.

It's good the first time you see it but boy oh boy is it dumb when you realise.

Not in the version I am familiar with. The magician shows five cards and you choose one. She removes one card and shows you the one you picked is gone. She replaces the missing card and shows you your card is back.

My understanding is that there are several versions of the trick. One set of variations uses ordinary playing cards and a little sleight-of-hand. Another set of variations uses gaffed cards.

Although technically it's the Princess Card Trick, not Princess Deck.

For those who followed the link and were amused, try explaining how I know that the card you picked was the Jack of Clubs!
