Southern Californians: Atlantis is inbound

Just about 30 minutes from now, we should all hear the boom-boom of the sound barrier being broken as the Space Shuttle Atlantis passes overhead for its landing at Edwards Air Force Base.

Get Ready! And don't be skeered!

I heard something loud about 12:45. It might have been a sonic boom.

Jesus! Be careful how you wield thread titles. I thought the lost continent of Atlantis was heading toward California!

I got the BOOMs here in Huntington Beach. Hubby called from Irvine to say he had just heard them, then about a minute after that, we got them here.

False advertising. I was expecting a Greek island and all we got was a lousy sonic boom (which I didn't even hear)!

Cool beans! I'm up here in West L.A. and I heard jack! It was a PLOT! Things haven't moved in my batch pad for awhile and I was lookin' forward to THIS! Man! What a ripoff!

But they got back fine and oh well I guess that's of equal importance. Still...

I read the title of this thread, and thought it was going to be about some sort of "Weekly World News" story with a psychic predicting that a massive earthquake would reveal a submerged civilization off the coast near Los Angeles.

Hmm.

As a consolation prize for my NOT getting to hear the boom-boom, I have decided to become rich and famous for discovering the Lost Continent Of Atlantis right here off the coast of the friendly climes of Southern California. Or even further north a bit.

The Channel Islands. Those 4 northern guys. They used to be a single land mass called Santa Rosae. Oh sure, of course they did. Where'd the rest of the "land mass" go? Land masses don't just disappear into thin air (unless it's Rosie O'Donnell leaving The View).

So that is where my quest for Atlantis will begin, who else is coming? We're going to need beer and a way to drink it underwater, any volunteers?
