You can have a gay old time in Samoa!

Homosexuality in Samoa may be punishable by 5 years in jail, but next month's South Pacific Games will be gay friendly!

Team Samoa have overturned the memo banning gay relationships which read:

Do not embarrass yourself, your family and your country by trying this in the village... Best not to even think about this. It's against the law of God!

Unfortunately, it was all some sort of misunderstanding according to the organising chairman as:

Quote:

Samoa has been known as accepting anybody, whether you be black or white, or whatever interests you have.

He finished by saying:

Quote:

We do not have any hard feelings about anybody.

So it looks like he won't be taking advantage of the relaxation of the law.
