Doug Abner, pastor at Community Church -- whose slogan for a 2004 anti-drug march was "get saved or get busted" -- said the presence of Court Watch volunteers puts "mild pressure" on judges "to do the right thing." The volunteers collect information for a database and look for trends in drug crimes.

You see this a lot with fundie christens, hate and persecution seem to be a central tenet of their faith. I am not sure what this has to do with their fairy tale of Jesus, but it makes that they would expand their persecution to yet another group of people that are easy to beat up on.

I think that's the whole purpose of this right there. They want to use the courts and the law as a tool to coerce people into joining their cult.

I don't understand why a delusional fundy would be so interested in ensuring punishment for someone who is just enjoying some of god's wonderful creations (like poppies and marijuana). Doesn't god tell us in Genesis, that nature is there for our use?
