Bad Logic and another Bin Laden tape

Let us assume with some validity that the most recent tape is really Bin Laden.

The funny thing is the Rutgers articles quotes Bin Laden as "Socialists are infidels wherever they are," the statement said. But it added: "It does not hurt that in current circumstances, the interests of Muslims coincide with the interests of the socialists in the war against crusaders." Referring to Iraq as socialistic.

Then "Colin Powell told a Senate panel Tuesday that he had read a transcript of the statement and that it shows why the world needs to be concerned about Iraqi ties to terrorism. " This CBS articles shows Powell using Bin Laden claim that the Muslims should stick together a charge for partnership. Meanwhile Laden calls Saddam an "infidel."

It's funny that the government tried to turn that round on Bin Laden. While pointing out stupid comments, Bin Laden says to support the people not the government.. while civilizians in American and Israel are being bombed and killed. There was no need for me to point out Bin Laden is full of crap, but mainly I wanted to show the bad logic of Powell.

PS. It's good to know people who are afraid of "commies" are not just on this BB rather they run terrorist groups.

In defense of Powell, I am not sure the transcript that Powell saw was accurate, especially since it was before the actual broadcast.

I do think Powell has a point. In the past, Bin Laden was opposed to Saddam because Saddam leads a "secular" government. Here however, you have Bin Laden setting that aside to encourage support of Iraq versus the United States.

That alone is provocative. If Bin Laden's group starts working with Iraq as Iraq does other terror groups (hamas, islamic jihad, etc) then that is not a good thing.

A few months ago, Saddam had some Al Q. executed for refusing to train people in Iraq. So you see, this audio tape does mean a lot. They now have the go ahead to collude with the man most likely to start ww3 by provoking Israel.

It is more complex than that. Al Qaeda are businessmen--they want control over all middle eastern oil. The BS they spew about "Allah this" and "Allah that" is just a means to an end. They are militant because they believe the regimes that control that oil are weak and can be overthrown. Bin Ladin and his crew are planning for posterity. Bin Ladin knows that oil will be the most precious substance this century. There is $350 trillion at stake.

Bin Ladin is also remarkably well informed and guided by others. I think Bin Ladin is not very smart individually, but is surrounded by people who are quite intelligent. It was smart for Al Qaeda to side with the "Iraqi" people and distance themselves from Hussein's regime. This is important for two reasons:

1) It let's Al Qaeda "feel the pain" of the Iraqi people and use that proaganda against the United States.

2) It keeps the United States from linking Al Qaeda directly to the Hussein government and also keeps Hussein's Arab enemies in other nation-states in the region from operating against them if Al Qaeda were to show some allegiance to Hussein.

Now, if you want to spin this to benefit the United States and our interests simply come up with a way that shows Al Qaeda is helping Saddam Hussein and shows loyalty to him. This will cause a rift in their efforts. Hussein has many enemies, many more than many Islamic states would like to admit.

If I was running the show here in America that involved this level of PSYOPS, I would link Al Qaeda to Saddam. It can't be that difficult to do that. Al Qaeda already publicly gave Iraq it's support--Al Qaeda involvement with Saddam can be only a step away if handled the right way.
