Looking for an internet trick
I have a little bit of a tough question. I'm a very amateur magician, a hobbist, really.
My girlfriend lives in Germany, (I'm in Connecticut), so when I see her, she loves the simple card tricks I do. Now these are basic card tricks, with basic forces. What I'm looking to do is a mentalism trick over the internet: through IM or internet phone or the like. Just something to flip her out a little as she loves it. :-) I'm not looking for secrets to be exposed here, just a push in the right direction. I've tried googling "mentalism internet tricks", but never really got something I could do over the internet with her in Germany and me in the US. Any suggestions where I could go? Thanks in advance. |

Google for "Princess card trick" and get an online demo.

All that comes to mind is an effect I got a little while ago from Thomas Baxter (Entity). It is a fun version of the Rock, Paper, Scissors game that you always win. It's good either impromtu or played bigger as part of a routine, or there's a version that can be done over the phone or by e-mail as well.
The downside is that it costs $15 for the one effect. (email: tombaxter@cogeco.ca) |

I know a card trick you can do which will blow her head off,it would mean mailing a deck of cards to her but can be done online after that.
If you PM me I will tell you more.

Thank you all.
I did know of the Princess Trick, she knew about that one too, but now you've told me the name of it, I've learned how to do it in person! So now I have a new trick to flip her out when I see her. :-) I'll check youtube tonight (I'm at work right now - no youtube), and Azrael 5 I hope you recieved my pm. :-) Thank you all for your help. And if I come up with something new, I'll post it. Thanks again. |

This one seems to come up on the forum every now and then:
http://www.mysticalball.com/ To me, the trick is sickeningly obvious, but many people are completely baffled by it. |

I know two tricks.
1) The first effect in _Solomon's Mind_. I think it's called "Steinmeyer's Nine Card Problem with Seven Cards." It's not IDEAL over the phone, and I've never done it over the phone, or any trick over the phone for that matter. I hate the phone. 2) "Silent Transmission Telephone Mystery" by Eddie Fields which, I understand, can be found in _Artful Dodges_ (Racherbaumer). Here's an article of a journalist recounting this effect as performed by David Blaine over the telephone: http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1795283,00.html You can also learn it on Paul Vigil's DVD "Prime Cut." It's probably the best trick of this kind and only requires a deck of cards (which does not even need to be a complete 52). Unfortunately it is rather long. |

Thank you all again. Between Brown's suggestion (which took me a few minutes to figure out), and Azrael 5's idea, I think I can come up with a very impressive trick. :-)
I'm doing the research on the David Blaine trick, Cain. Something like that was what I was going for. Thank you all again so much. |
