What?

I mean, what?

[On a related but slightly less insane note, in the US it is common to refer to all ex-Presidents as "Mr. President" for the rest of their lives. I have wondered if President Clinton would ask politely to be called "Mr. Clinton" if Senator Clinton were to become President.]

Under the Constitution, he would be required to have a sex change within 90 days of Hillary taking office.

I think the term would be "first gentleman." "Gentleman" is the male counterpart to "lady."

Remembering Bill's "Good ol' days", the term "first gentleman" probably would be outrageous for the Christian moralizers.

...I'm all for the term.

The idea of Bill Clinton being the first "First Gentlemen" is (to me) quite disturbing.

Perhaps something like "First Philanderer" is more appropriate?

(now don't jump down my throat, this was said firmly tounge in cheek, just playing)

My understanding of his shenanigans leads me to believe that the Constitution isn't big enough to cover it.

If a husband and wife are both doctors, generally I've seen both use the honorific (Dr. and Dr. Smith). I would be surprised if people stopped referring to him as President Clinton. President Bush 1 didn't lose the title when his son was elected. This is no different.

Im more curious how this will play out between them. What do you think, will Bill have a hard time staying out of his wifes way?

Personally, I think he's the best thing she's got going for her campaign; he definitely softens her image.

Of course, I don't expect he'll be in charge of selecting interns.

God,Oliver, are you trying to make yourself look like a fool?
If so,you are suceeding.
I don't think anybody,Christians included, objects to "The First Gentlemen" as being a term for Bill when and if.
BTW you really are ignorant about most aspects of American Life.

The difference is that President Bush and pResident Bush don't live in the same house. Just think of the confusion on the phone lines: "President Clinton, please." And imagine the headlines: President Clinton Supports President Clinton or Clinton Scandal Reminiscent of Clinton Scandal.

The common courtesy of referring to Ex Presidents as "President" will probably be suspended if Hillary wins just to avoid confusion.
I guess those who hate Hillary will have some fun with the address of "Madame President" though.

The odd thing is that they would be referred to as Mr & Mrs President since Bill keeps his title as President even after. Poor Hilary... still 2nd fiddle.

Being a social moderate and fiscal conservative, I liked Bill Clinton in the 90s.

I fear his wife though. She seems like she's in it for the power, and her political stance is just a means to the ends.

When Maggie Thatcher was prime minister her husband was known as The old drunk.Every where they went he seemed to bit drunk and tottering after her.I can see the same fate for Bill only with a bit more of the dirty old man thing.
