September 2007 Stundie Nominations

Well, good golly gosh, it's 'that' time of the month again, and so time for the rules and whatnot.

I'm moving around a bit this month, just so you know. Got to go to Sydney until mid-October ("What was that mum? 'Lectures'? Never heard of 'em!"), and while I'll have the interwebs I probably won't be on as often. I'll still be around though, so you'd better all adhere to dem rules...
  1. Nominations from the JREF forums are allowing, but will not be as highly regarded as nominations from other sources, be they on or off the interwebs. The finalists will contain a maximum of 25% nominations from the JREF forums; 75-100% must be from nominations external to the JREF forums.
  2. Nominations should always be accompanied by a link or a screenshot, to confirm that the quote exists and has not been taken out of context. (It would be wise to always have a backup screenshot, as truth movement forums are well known for deleting entire threads.)
  3. For a nomination to be eligible, it must have a real and obvious link to conspiracy theories, but not exclusively 9/11 conspiracy theories.
  4. Stundie nominations should 'stand alone'. Do not over-embellish introductions, but do provide comments. Do not use any blatant ad hominem attacks.
  5. Please post the nomination under the real screenname of the nominee, and not under a slightly altered name (e.g. Killclown, Roxpup, Do-over).
  6. The best Stundie nominations are short and sweet. As a guideline, no more than 6 lines should be included from the post. If you are giving context, highlight the actual nomination.
  7. Entire videos or audio clips are not eligible for nomination. Specific statements or claims from videos or audio clips are eligible for nomination.
  8. No long rants. Cut them down to the funniest bit.
  9. No speeling mistikes or tie-pose. Everybody makes a mistake once in a while!

Remember that the truther mantra applies here - if you aren't sure about something, "Ask questions, demand answers."

So get cracking with those nominations, and say 'Hi!' to your dad from me this Sunday!

OldSchool, for having the "higest" literacy in his class.

Quote:
Took an entrance exam yesterday for a CSS "Computer Systems Specialist" at a private Technical College. On the entrance exam I recieved 90 out of 100 on every test. My literacy score was the higest with 99 out of 100. The written part of the test I recieved the highest possible grade 5 out of 5. So when push comes to shove and i'm in an acedemic setting the scores speak for themselves.

He's in rare form today. In his next comment, he invents a brand new meaning of "secret."

And structure errors in sentences 1, 3, and 4. I'd hate to see the work of the person who scored loughest.

Ah, but if all the names are blanked out on the ballots....

100,000 intelligence agents having to clear their activities through a single judge? Makes sense to me.

He got 90 out of 100 on every test, except for the one where he got 99 out of 100? I guess one of those wasn't a math test......

Is there a prize for the most Stundies in one nomination?

True, but in team handball, there isn't an ``our'' court and a ``their'' court, the way there would be in tennis or volleyball or some other game involving a net separating the sides of the court...

Yep. Certainly is - I've always made exceptions for noms that are absolutely dripping with irony, though this is the first one that's passed the irony-dripping test.

Found this one on LCF.
bowtononebutone just doesn´t understand why the Naudet-brothers made a documentary about firefighters doing staff and whatever - just on the day of 911. Of course this can`t be coincidence.

Quote:
What logical purpose was there to filming a fire crew, doing manhole/grating repair(or whatever in the world it was they were doing), on that particular day, at that particular time, at that particular location?

To have something to applaud themselves over? To have a record of witness to their first strike?

Are the Naudet brothers complicit? Are they part of it all?
Hmmm...
He´s not really sure if they`re on to be fair...
Or so it seems.

Heck yeah, something's amiss here.

Here's more comedy from A-Train's parents basement.

Quote:
Here's what really happened: the hijackers-- the ones who took out the pilots-- looked and dressed like you and me. They may have had pilot credentials. They gained the trust of the pilots, then quickly took them out with shots to the head from a silencer-equipped gun. On UAL93, the hijacker was probably already in the jump seat when the warning was broadcast to bar the door.

Here's a good tag-team Stundie. I do so hope he brings this up in class!

Andoo Inc. at LCF:

Quote:
Yeah, I have an engineering professor who works for FEMA. Needless to say I'm very cautious to say anything especially when he brought up the towers last week in class and how the planes destroyed the fireproofing of the steel. It's a materials class and he is teaching it, so I can't really start like trying to defend anything without bringing up white flashes and explosives.
Followed up by smeagul75:

Quote:
question him calmly on exactly when the periodic table of elements was proven wrong......seeing as jet fuels burning point is nowhere near steels melting point...thats just junior high science....lol

The "god-less Arab" thing just doesn't make any sense either, especially if he's playing off of some peoples' characterization of truthers as Islamic extremist apologists.

Can we nominate a thread title? T.A.M. will love this one:

Can't move a plane...

Didn't they use to say that in 1870s or something ?

Or was that an obscure D&D reference ?

This one is probably a bit too long for a Stundie, but it boggles my mind:

I take two balls and put them on the table. Then I take two more balls and put them on the table. Then I count the balls. 1, 2, 3, 4. Here's my proof, I say: 2 + 2 = 4.

CAT says no it isn't.

But I just laid it out on the table, says I. That's the proof.

CAT says no that's just a coincidence.

So I do it again. Get the same answer. Is that a coincidence too? I ask.

CAT says no that's an anomaly.

Turns out you can pile up as many coincidences as you like and CAT says that's just an anomaly. Or you can pile up a bunch of anomalies and CAT says that's just a coincidence.

If there's anything worse than plain stupid, it's stupid trying to be clever.
