This doesn't have to be at all frivolous. If he would only name as parties to the suit some of God's self-professed representatives on Earth, then he'd have flesh-and-blood defendants to target. Pat Robertson has been passing on a lot of the vengeful diety's threats lately. He'd make a prime subject for judgement -- of the civil courts that is!

I've heard a dozen cases like this. IIRC they all get thrown out because the plaintiff cannot show the court has jurisdiction or because the defendant cannot be served.

So many people claim to be representatives for the Almighty.
And yet, when it comes to receiving lawsuit papers, these folks sound a lot like Peter: "No, we don't hang around together. No, we're not associated. Look, I don't know him, all right??" |

For a court to have legitimacy, it needs two things:
1) Legal jurisdiction 2) The ability to enforce its decisions Against an omnipotent entity, #2 falls woefully short. Not just physically, but probably philosophically, as well. How legitimate would a lawsuit by amoebae in your lab petri dish be? Moreover, as has been argued in various short stories over the years, God on the witness stand cannot be trusted given the threats of punishment for perjury are vapid. |

If God is omnipresent, and lacks the necessary documentation, he is clearly in this country illegally and should be seized, interrogated, and either deported or disappeared to Guantanamo. Terrorists seem to drop his name a lot, which surely makes him a person of interest.
