Thoughts on Jerry Sadowitz

I recently made a post regarding Jerry Sadowitz. I will put my cards on the table and admit to being a fan.

Reasons why he is great.

1.Stuff the White Rabbit-Great show.
2.He is the only magician who you would find it hard to call cheesy.
3.He is the Punk to mainstream magics Prog-rock.
4.If it wasn't for Jerry Sadowitz, Derron Brown could well be a supermarket manager or a comedy hypnotist scratching a living in a run down spanish holiday resort.
5.Number 15 on C4 list of best stand ups. Peter Kay was No2 though and he is **** so don't put too much store on this point.
6."I tell you why I hate Canada, half of you speak French, and the other half let them". He is funny.
&. He is excellent with cards.

In a world where all our entertainment is watered down and sanitized he is the exception to the rule. He is the big two fingers to the mainstream. A big **** off to the American Idol type of rubbish that passes for entertainment.

It's just a shame he is jewish.

He is certainly a breath of fresh air, although people who have met him claim to have had bad experiences.Rudeness etc.

I remember his show form the Nineties and he was funny. Also have S.T.W.R on DVD!

Not very nice to thing to say. DJM on this forum is Jewish and is a top bloke. Can't say he'd be too pleased at that comment.

Apologies if somehow I've misinterpreted that sentence.

I half thought that was case but in quotes may have been better.

A truly awesome card magician and very funny, on the edge and beyond of extremely bad taste. He played a one-off here in London a couple of weeks ago and I'm miffed to have missed him.

I met him very briefly in passing a few months ago. I didn't get that impression.

Sadowitz is a great last name.

I like Sadowitz. Or, maybe I like the idea of Sadowitz. I cannot say I have seen much of the guy; most of what I learn is through second-hand accounts. A common criticism of fringe characters or movements is that their perspective is limited and predictable -- conformist in a sense -- in that they're locked into contrarianism. I think Robert McKee, the famous script adviser (and possible fraud), lumped together "Hollywood" directors with French "auteurs", in part for the following reason: the former favors expensive special effects and happy endings, while the latter tends toward minimalism, pretentiousness, and impenetrability, but at bottom each is more concerned about "razzle-dazzle" instead of storytelling.

Has anyone gone into the "Magicians Only" section of his site? He lambastes Michael Ammar, Daryl Martinez, Darwin Ortiz, Harry Lorayne, Max Maven, and others.

Oh yes, and also every promoter he has ever had.
