Invisible thread-help needed

I'm looking to get hold of some invisible thread and was looking for a bit of advice please.

I only need it for a couple of card tricks and am not looking to spend lots of money. If the versions for a few quid are any good, then they are fine.

I keep seeing them sold "stripped" or "unstripped". What does this mean?

Also, because it's a relatively cheap item, if anyone can point me in the direction of an English web site that sells good stuff, I can stop the shipping being more than the thread!!

I know this post is a bit random, but basically, where can I get cheap thread that will be reasonably good for a few card tricks.

Regards

CB

CB1, I've PMd you about stripped/unstripped. Others will have to direct you to an English magic site (by which I assume you mean one in England or Great Britain.

On another site, people said that "wooley nylon thread" at a sewing goods store would work if you tease the individual strands apart.

There are lots of variations of IT. Some folks recommend buying women's underwear with spandex in it, and teasing out a spandex thread. This will give you a thread that is fairly strong and stretchable. Plus, you can also used the underwear for ... ahem .. other purposes if you choose.

"Loops" are ideal for certain applications. You mentioned card tricks, if you have in mind something like a "rising card" type effect, loops can be used. And it's great how you can be wearing the gimmick on your wrist until it's needed, and nobody will see it there.

Also if you have some money to spend, the battery powered "Spider Pen" is really cool.
