latest skepticality
This week, Daniel Loxton (editor of Junior Skeptic) offers his own
personal perspective on the future of skepticism as a movement. Presented as an original full-length audio article his op-ed essay argues that the search for a "new skepticism" is misguided—and that the early titans of skepticism had it right in the first place. Then, Derek and Swoopy sit down with Daniel to talk about the skeptics paradox: that so many people feel exhausted and fed up by the paranormal, at the very time that the most exciting new developments—from podcasts to conferences to community—are firmly focused on our core paranormal concerns. Has classic skepticism run its course? According to Daniel, we're only now getting ready to start. |

Thanks,
And this episode has causes us the most positive feedback through e-mail and telephone calls. We've had many that have asked for links and names of other groups and who they can contact to get involved. I enjoyed it immensely and was so glad that Dan did that recording for us!

His essay is excellent. In some ways, the idea of his topic touches on the "debate" over the cables challenge going on here at the forum.
It was very thought provoking, definitely worth multiple listenings. |

I linked to it up in the 'JREF' sub forum. And, like Tressa, also felt it linked with that thread. However to avoid a derail I started a new thread on it.
I seriously urge everybody to read it or listen to what he has to say. Athon |

I just listened to the podcast and really enjoyed it. It was very motivational. Identifying yourself as part of a skeptical movement is doing something positive for the community. I'll have to find some niche in the critical thinking community that I can be more proactive in. It was a great pep talk.

And now the full Skeptrack at Dragon*Con is reality. Our guest list is pretty damn good too!
