An awful demonstration of psychometry!

The British medium Derek Acora appeared on the programme 'This Morning' on UK TV just now. He was trying to 'read' a dress using the paranormal skill of psychometry.

These are the key vibrations he claimed to be detecting:

The letters J and E
A sensitive person
A bridge
Transport and France
The name Anne

The dress turned out to be a stage dress worn by Vivien Leigh in a 1955 production of 'Macbeth'.

Of course the reading was deemed a success because :

1) Vivien Leigh was a sensitive person (strange that for a lady)

2)In the play, there was a staircase. At this point Derek Acora made a diagonal motion with his hand to indicate that both bridges and staircases are structures that leave the ground at an angle, so there was the obvious link (?!) Oh and also she used to have to travel over a bridge to get to the theatre each day.

3) Anne was obviously him picking up the '-en' in Vivien (I'm not joking!)

4) After the play finished it's run, she went on holiday to France.

As you can see the letter J and E were never identified. And he never got close to the fact she was a world famous Hollywood actress performing in a Shakespeare play with Lawrence Olivier, her husband.

Sometimes you just feel like giving up. Can people be this stupid?

Did you doubt it?

J and E?

Maybe Viv spends most of her time talking to John Edward these days.

Of course, it all makes sense now! And to think I doubted.

It was chilling to see the presenter of the show pronouncing herself "amazed" at the guessing abilities of Dezza. Another example of the uncritical and credulous mainstream media doing what it does best.

Don't mean to be rude but you were the one watching 'This Morning'. People in glasshouses.....

I guess I asked for that!

I wouldn't say I watch it. I work from home and do have the TV on all the time and so catch things like this.

Mind you I do love a bit of trash TV from time to time, doesn't mean I'm stupid!
