Google "pen vanish." It's a standard trick.

Having googled for the "Pen Vanish" trick, I tend to agree that this is an entirely different method. Note that both ends of the pen are clearly shown, and the guy is in short sleeves and no jacket. Fairly impressive.

It's also a very particular camera angle. Anything more would be violating the terms and conditions, though.

Well I bet ChristineR has absolutely no idea on how he did it, but my guess is that the elastic invisible string holding the pen was along his right arm, ending somewhere on his back... So when the trick was finished the pen was left hanging of the back of his shirt. I'm very unsure of this though... Any other ideas?

I have as many ideas as you do, but you've just violated the terms and conditions of this board and are likely to get a warning.

People should go and learn magic not just come here begging for secrets!
Enjoy the amazement.

This trick is absolutely amazing. I watched it several times freezing the frames and watching for a flyiny/dropping/other pen but nothing.
This guy could get the $1M I'm sure.

I don't think so. Look at his other vanishing tricks. He did the same trick again with a marker and flipped it around in the air before he did it, showing there wasn't a rubberband (unless he somehow attached it really quickly in there, but I can't think of when he would have done it). He also does a good vanishing trick with a bottle of Corona. I can't tell if he's using the same method with each trick, so I can't figure it out. It's driving me crazy, I wish I hadn't seen it.

Ok, this is mind boggling. Here's the beer bottle vanish trick:

The guy says in the comment section that it is done in "one continuous [camera] shot". What does it mean?, that there's no camera cut?. Can anyone believe that?

Since it's not allowed to reveal magic secrets here, I'd be content with someone just saying he/she positively (and honestly) knows how it is done. Any takers?

Watch the video where he makes the scissors then his cell phone disappear. I think there are clues in it. For instance, he makes the scissors disappear and then, near the end of the video, he's casually talking about the trick and he picks the same scissors back up from in front of him. That's how I knew he didn't have a rubberband tied to his back. Also, when he makes the scissors actually "vanish," there is a very small sliver of the handle still showing around his left thumb and it does something wierd at the moment of the "vanish."

I still am completely clueless though.

Yes, the scissors vanishing trick might be quite revealing that no magic trick is involved, after all.

And yet, I have no clue of how this might be accomplished.

Watch carefully:

He has two vanishing bottle videos up,one which is wrapped in newspaper.

I've no idea, but I know a man who might have, and will see him tomorrow!

He says there's no edit and I believe him.

Even when I don't know how an effect is done, I can reasonably speculate (I'm frequently wrong when I speculate, but the speculations are still reasonable).

I must admit that this man's vanishes--assuming there is no camera edit--have me baffled, and I can't even speculate.

I want to steal his powers and use them for evil good.

You don't need camera edits to achieve some pretty 'impossible' vanishes.

My favourite (I am biased because it's partly my work) is the extremely impossible banana vanish:

The comments (his own, so I don't think this is "revealing") say that:

"These are true:
1. This is one continuous shot
2. I don't make a solid glass bottle vanish"

and

"It can be performed in front of 1 person at a time stood in the right position... It's a bit limited really."

I know the bottle vanish, but the bare hand vanish...? A magician friend of mine says "edit" and at first I argued against this, but I don't know of any way to do it without yet.

I have to disagree. Simply an unobvious lighting angle--behind and above him, and to his right.

There are two ways to interpret that. The one I think is least likely is that he means the bottle wasn't real.

The I think is more likely is that he means he actually vanish anything. It's the advice I give people who are trying to figure out a method: First decide what the magician didn't do. He didn't saw a woman in half. He didn't pull a quarter from my ear. He didn't magically make the Ace appear over here instead of over there.

I'm pretty sure I figured out the banana trick that Teek posted. She won't tell me if I'm right, and that's fine, because I don't want to know if I'm wrong. I never figure these sorts of things out.
