Truthers are boring

LV:FC is a bust. Truther shenanigans are down. No one is writing impassioned, but stupid letter to editors any more. Kevin Barrrett has to sunk to dancing around in a V mask. In short, the truthers are no fun any more.

Well, we're not at the true end yet... but we're well past the beginning of the end...

The middle of the end?

My Avatar shows what I think of Barrett and the other Vendetta lovers...lol

As for the truth movement...it is getting rather dull. I find the challenge is gone, the bitterness is definitely rising in them, and I think this is because they know there movement is in its death throws.

I don't think they're boring. Their MO certain is boring now that it's been shown to be nothing but childish idiocy.

But the Troofers themselves?

They're infinitely entertaining. In that hate-to-watch-but-can't-turn-away-trainwreck kind of way.

I am a student at UW-Madison. I actually took Barrett's class during the entire controversy. It's pretty sad to see how he went from "Professor With Bizarre Opinions Not Related to His Expertise" to complete loony who thinks the clunkity-clunk theory is valid. I assume he thinks his inability to get hired again by the university is another part of the conspiracy, but really they are just sick of his nonsense.

It's funny... I was browsing LCF today thinking the exact same thing.

Final Cut was a gigantic non-event.

(edit... meant to quote TAM but didn't)

I find it quite annoying that the woowoos have adopted the V mask, I happen to like dystopian stories (gotta love your Orwell and the casting of Hurt was just perfect the film would have died on it's backside apart from that I think)

I have BB (Bob Flag) and various INGSOC styled propaganda as my screeny in work (Iwork for the civil service... shudder) not a woowoo by any means... just that the adoption of the V mask evacuates my bladder against a wall slightly more than the "interpretation" of Constantine (sprays vodka out of nose at being that polite)

I have to disagree. The movie 1984 was awful. Hurt is cool but it seems like he just stares into space the whole movie. The book, however, is one of my favorites. Although I find it really obnoxious every time somebody evokes it and goes "SEE!! IT'S COMING!!" These are people who don't understand what the book is about or in what context it was written.

i never saw the movie, but im a big alan moore fan

i often wonder if the truthers would identify with V if they read the graphic novel (or if they even know it was a comic before it was a movie)

Yes I have to agree. My annoyance, and subsequent foot stomping of the V mask is a reflection of my dislike for the truthers, or at least the acid they spew.

I'm a bit indifferent about the movie (This is the '84 film though, not the '56 one right?), but I do agree it's annoying to hear these people use the book as if it was some prophecy.

Although it's quite easy to use the book itself to disprove their point, especially when they say that this is happening right now, or the government is doing the same thing in the book as here.

I have to agree somewhat with this.
There is an endless recycling of the same stuff over and over again, if anything, we might come across even more absurdity in already lunatic fringe theories.

But thats it.

What have the latest truther forum members brought here except anger and resentment? the bitterness is in leaps and bounds. I come back here now more for the laugh then anything else. I think the theories have become so unbelievable and impossible now that the movement itself is its own worst enemy.

In all the theories and time since the event, the complaints about how long the investigation is taking and how its been done till now are endless from the truthers - the same mob that have NO coherent linear theory of the day. Every theory or buzz statement I hear from them contradicts another, yet a truther will embrace all theories as it supports the desired conclusion.
The gage silent thermite/massive explosions arguement is just the latest. In all that time the supporting evidence for the official line seems to keep slowly growing, whilst the multiple theories of trutherville get more fractured by the day.

And of course : LCFC has been a huuuuge success!

I have to agree with the OP in regards to how I feel now....truthers are really starting to get boring! And very annoying.

Cheers

Most people are too polite and ignore the people who spew idiot ideas of 9/11 truth. It does seem boring with no new crazy ideas or new entertainers stepping into the dumb light of 9/11 truth.

What is the next step for a the failed ideas of 9/11 truth? At least bigfoot followers are not blaming people for anything. Bigfoot, more "evidence" than 9/11 truth? so sad

Well the troofers know that there years as a united(kinda) force are near an end, when in 08 Bush leaves office for which ever Dem comes to power and most likely pulls our troops out of Iraq. No longer able to leach off of anti-war/Bush protesters they return to there holes.

I've actually been wanting to start a new debunking project/paper. The only thing that's stopping me is the fact that it's all been debunked before, and there is nothing new out there.

The truth movement really is getting boring.

I have to say that seeing the same arguments over and over, and none with any merit, is rather boring....I just wish troothers would come up with something new, but of course that is not likely to happen.

It's kind of like debating a play by Shakespeare. The story can be annalyzed over and over, but the story is still the same and everyone knows how it turns out.

Oh, they're getting old, no doubt. There hasn't been anything new (not counting the truly insane notions like thermite shock tubes and such), the arguments are the same crap over and over again. I find myself spending much more time in other areas of the forum, because there just isn't anything here worthy of attention anymore.

We suffer from this with the Apollo Hoax loons. You get a new one on the hook and it's all , yeah let's get something great that'll make us think. You're all ready with the Video Footage DVD's primed, books open on the desk and the ALSJ DVD spinning in the Computer Drive when you see the end of the post. "There aren't any stars in the photos." At that point your heart sinks and you start to beat your head on the desk and cry knowing that it isn't going to get any better from there till they get themselves banned.
