Seeing Through Cards with Ramtha

Fans of the Ramtha's School of Enlightenment (RSE) must be elated that they have a new card trick. Kenny Thompson and Debbie Chritsie, two of JZ Knight's (aka Ramtha) appointed teachers, have developed an extraordinary and advanced skill of the mind. They are able to see through the back of playing cards. In Kenny’s first demonstration in front of seven hundred students, he accurately saw and called 46 out of 51 cards. I would love to see them put under a controlled test … say for a million bucks?

I wonder if the cards were as semi-transparent as the Zenner cards I once got as a free gift with a woo magazine?

They look like a regular deck of playing cards but with big happy yellow smiley faces. You can see the demo on youtube ... search on "seeing through cards"

I would think it more likely they were marked cards than transparent. Although the smiley face would make it a little more difficult for others to notice (as opposed to a flowery, complex design like a marked deck sold at a magic shop) it's a far cry from being totally blank.

I did not watch the entire video, and so never saw the wmoan. She could have been wearing tinted glasses or contacts, and the cards marked in such a way they could have only been seen with those type of lenses.

Here's the video:

But before you watch it, I will save you some time.

1. This appears to be home video from the audience of an event. Mostly you see a big-screen projection of a close-up of the cards on a table.

2. You don't see the cards being shuffled, so they could have been rigged to be in an order that she fully or partially memorized.

3. You also don't see how else they were handled before being placed on the table, so other forms of cheating is a possibility.

4. You don't see the reader, you just hear her voice. So it is not known if she's wearing glasses, blindfolded, at the table or in another room, or what.

5. The cards are smiley face backs as mentioned, but they could still be marked.

Bottom line: I'm not impressed. There's not enough shown here to even be impressed.
